Floyd Mayweather added even more fuel to the fire regarding a likely superfight against the UFC champion Conor McGregor. The boxer, who retired from fighting last year, revealed that he will only resume his career in the sport if it is in a fight against the Irishman.

In an interview with the YouTube channel “ESNews”, Mayweather, considered for a long time the highest paid athlete in the world, showered McGregor with praise and was completely open to the duel. “If I fight again, it will only be against Conor McGregor. It won't be against anyone but him. The fight marriage is very intriguing. You have a boxer against an MMA fighter, who is one of the best of all time in MMA. He’s a strong fighter, and when I watch his fights, he’s a little faster than I thought he would be,” he analyzed.
More than simply having the desire, Mayweather stated that he is also coming up with a way to get the idea off the ground. “I'm pretty sure we're going to have a plan to make this fight happen. It hasn't happened yet, but we've already thought about some dates in different countries, as well as different cities in the United States,” he commented.
Mayweather retired from boxing with a perfect record of 49 wins in 49 fights. McGregor, in turn, is the UFC featherweight champion, but is coming off a defeat: in March, he was submitted by Nate diaz in a catchweight fight.
