The featherweight Michihiro Omigawa can be considered an MMA nomad. In his five-year career, the Japanese fighter fought in nine different organizations, including the UFC and the now-defunct PRIDE. After achieving five consecutive victories in his career, the athlete will return to the Dana White event in the first quarter of next year.

Omigawa's opponent will be the North American Chad Mendes. The confrontation in question could take place at both UFC 126 and UFC 128. However, there is also the possibility of this fight being part of an edition of UFC on Versus not yet made official by the organization, the date of which is being explored for March 2011.

Omigawa will be looking for his first UFC victory, as he was defeated in his only two fights at the event. In 2007, the Japanese player was knocked out by Matt wiman at UFC 76 while in 2008, at UFC Fight Night 12, was surpassed by the Brazilian Thiago tavares in the unanimous decision of the judges.
