Ronaldo Jacare took no notice of Vitor belfort in the Brazilian duel on the main card of UFC 198, an event held this Saturday night (14) in Curitiba, Paraná. The Amazon native dominated all the actions in the octagon and achieved victory with a resounding technical knockout in the first round.

From the beginning of the fight, Jacaré sought to corner Belfort and take the fight to the ground. As soon as he managed to stabilize his position on the ground, Ronaldo threw an elbow that opened a large cut on Belfort's nose, causing profuse bleeding.

The fight referee interrupted the actions so that the doctor could check Belfort's situation, and the actions were resumed shortly afterwards. Jacaré continued in a dominant position: Belfort got up, but the Amazonian fell again and punished him with blows.

Cornered by his rival's aggression, Belfort saw Jacaré mount. More blows were thrown and the referee stopped the fight with just a few seconds left in the first round.

After celebrating the victory, Jacaré gave a very clear message to the UFC asking for the belt: “I deserve to fight for the title! I think I deserved it! I’ll kill Luke if I catch him,” he said, receiving broad support from the Curitiba public.

The first fights on the card also saw the first defeat of Warlley alves in professional MMA, a very narrow victory for Mauritius Shogun in the judges' decision on Corey anderson and the trampling of Chris Cyborg in his Ultimate debut, against Leslie Smith. Check out how it went!

The biggest “barbado” of the night had no surprises. Chris Cyborg confirmed expectations and inflicted a real blow on Leslie Smith in her long-awaited debut in the UFC Octagon.

The Brazilian, who hasn't known what it's like to lose in MMA for over ten years, began her career in Ultimate in a restrained manner, attacking without her usual aggression. However, it was short-lived: just over a minute into the fight, Cyborg released the game and took down Smith after accurate crosses to the chin.

On the ground, the Brazilian started with everything and continued striking until the referee interrupted, which happened 1min21s into the action. “I've been the world champion [in the featherweight division, which doesn't exist in the UFC] for ten years, so I want to defend my title. But I can fight at catchweight here”, celebrated the Brazilian.

Smith, visibly irritated by the fight, protested the referee's interruption. “I never stop! F*** this!” shouted the American after the fight.

Shogun wins tight fight against Anderson

Illustrious son of Curitiba, Mauritius Shogun cheered the fans present at the Arena da Baixada with their victory over Corey anderson. However, even though the former champion came very close to being knocked out on two occasions, the fight was extremely tough and even.

The first round took place practically entirely on the feet, with the Brazilian abusing low kicks. In the final seconds, Shogun landed a powerful left cross, which made Anderson wobble and fall. The American, however, was saved by the bell.

In the second round, Anderson decided to return to his roots and use wrestling more. Shogun, however, managed to prevent Anderson from stabilizing his position, despite the fact that he himself did little to damage his opponent. Again in the final seconds, Anderson tried a kick and Shogun took advantage with a well-aimed counterattack, which took the North American down hard. Once again, saved by the bell.

In the final round, Anderson showed a greater desire to use grappling. He managed to take down Shogun on several occasions, but the Brazilian got up. After three busy rounds, two judges gave the victory to Shogun, and one to Anderson.

Warlley loses unbeaten record against Barberena

TUF Brazil 3 Champion, Warlley alves suffered his first defeat in professional MMA at the opening of the main card in Curitiba. The Brazilian started well, but ended up overtaken by Bryan barberena in the judges' decision.

Warlley started the fight trying to get a guillotine choke, but Barberena survived. After a tight first round, with an intense rhythm, the Brazilian showed fatigue in the remaining rounds and fought back and forth with his rival.

However, Barberena connected the best blows, which were enough to give him the unanimous victory. It is the second time in a row that he has taken away his invincibility from a promise: before, he had finished Sage Northcutt, the “darling” of the UFC.
