The return of the North American Chael Sonnen to UFC should happen in the first months of 2011. After being suspended for a year after being caught in the anti-doping test related to UFC 117 (remember here), where it was finished by the Brazilian Anderson Silva, Sonnen had his sentence reduced yesterday afternoon (02).

Along with his lawyers and his doctor, the American participated in a hearing with representatives of the California State Athletic Commission, the body responsible for sanctioning UFC 117. By three votes to one, the commissioners decided to reduce Sonnen's sentence to the period of six months from August 07th of this year, the date of his fight for the middleweight belt. However, the amount of the fine to be paid by the fighter was maintained at 2.500 dollars.

With the reduced sentence, Sonnen will be free to return to activity from March 02nd. The 33-year-old fighter has four wins and four losses in the UFC since his debut in 2005.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
