Former UFC lightweight and welterweight champion, B.J. Penn, won one of his most significant victories in his career last night (20). In the third confrontation involving one of the biggest rivalries in UFC history, the Hawaiian knocked out Matt hugs in just 21 seconds of fighting and obtained his second victory against his old rival.
But it looks like Penn won't have much time to rest. UFC president, Dana White, stated during the UFC 123 press conference that the fighter's next commitment is scheduled for next February against the American Jon fitch. The fight will be valid for UFC 127, which will probably take place in Sydney, Australia.
Another fight mentioned by White for the organization's second edition on Australian soil is between George Sotyropoulos e Dennis siver. Like Penn, Sotiropoulos was in action this weekend at UFC 123, where he defeated Joe lauzon by submission (kimura) in the second round of the fight. Check out the possible matchups being considered for UFC 127 below:
Michael Bisping x Jorge Rivera
John Fitch x B.J. Penn
Dennis Siver vs. George Sotiropoulos
Carlos Condit x Chris Lytle
