Lawler vs. Woodley for the welterweight belt should happen at UFC 201

Without fighting since January, when he crashed Carlos Condit in a very busy fight, the welterweight champion Robbie Lawler must defend his title at the beginning of the second semester. Ultimate's plans are for Lawler to face Tyron woodley in the main fight of UFC 201, at the end of July.

Welterweight champion since December 2014, Robbie Lawler was notable for always putting on exciting title fights, like against John hendricks, Rory McDonald e Carlos Condit. The champion has a professional record of 27 wins, ten losses and one fight without result.

Yes, Tyron woodley, 34 years old, has an MMA record of 15 wins and just three losses. Former challenger to the now-defunct Strikeforce belt, Woodley is coming off two straight victories, over Dong Hyun Kim and Kelvin Gastelum, but hasn't fought since January last year due to a series of injuries.

UFC 201 takes place on July 30th, at Phillips Arena, in Atlanta (USA). So far there are no fights officially announced for the card, which will follow the great UFC 200 – scheduled for 21 days earlier, in Las Vegas (USA).
