Before the start of the UFC-123 fights, an event that took place last night (20), in Detroit, the Brazilian José Aldo was officially named Ultimate Featherweight Champion. The Brazilian athlete received the belt from President Dana White and took photos next to the top hat.
Owner of the WEC featherweight belt, Aldo was considered UFC champion, after the organizations merged and Ultimate adopted the featherweight and bantamweight categories.
The Brazilian's first title defense will be at UFC-125, an event that takes place on January 1st, in Las Vegas against Josh Grispi.
