“Obviously, I want to fight him, but he asked to face me first. It's difficult for me to choose opponents. When I'm number one I don't challenge anyone because it doesn't make sense for me to say I want to fight number eight. There’s no reason to say that,” Benavidez told the “MMA Junkie” website. “People can challenge me and then the game begins. O Wilson reis He said he wants to fight me and he is someone I have a lot of respect for; he is a veteran and wants to compete against the best. I want to compete with the best, and I've been asking for this fight. So, I hope that soon, maybe in June or July (it will happen). There is nothing official, but it will happen”, he added.
