UFC is about to announce McGregor's return, says coach

The Irish fighter's head coach, John Kavanagh believes official confirmation will be made soon

After all the controversy that resulted in the withdrawal of Conor McGregor of UFC 200, the Irish fighter is very close to making his return to the Octagon official. The guarantor is McGregor's head coach, John Kavanagh, who has already designed the event in which this would happen.

On his official Facebook fan page, Kavanagh was asked by an internet user about McGregor's next fight. “[It will be at] UFC 201 or 202. The official announcement will be made soon, for sure,” wrote the SBG Ireland gym leader.

The stipulated events are in accordance with the projection made by UFC president, Dana White. Events 201 and 202 do not yet have a confirmed date or location, but will probably take place in August and September this year.

McGregor would headline UFC 200 against Nate diaz. However, the featherweight champion refused to leave Europe during his training and go to Las Vegas (USA) to participate in a promotional press conference. Ultimate then canceled the fight and announced Jon Jones x Daniel Cormier as the event's new main fight.
