Barboza moves up to sixth in the official UFC rankings

The Brazilian gained two positions on the list and saw Anthony Pettis, beaten by him at UFC 197, fall after losing four positions

Edson Barboza was the highlight of the most recent update to the UFC's official rankings this week. The Brazilian, who beat the former champion Anthony Pettis at UFC 197, he moved up two positions in the lightweight category and now occupies sixth place.

Barboza left behind both Pettis and Michael Johnson, who, interestingly enough, has already beaten him in the past. Pettis, in turn, fell down the list and is now in seventh place.

Pettis' free fall caused Tony Ferguson (third), Donald Cerrone (fourth) e Nate diaz (fifth) gained one position each. Number one remains Khabib Nurmagomedov, ahead of Eddie Alvarez – the champion, Rafael dos Anjos, like all belt holders, does not appear on the list.

Another change took place in the middleweight category. Robert whittaker, which hit Rafael Sapo, exceeded Lyoto Machida and rose to sixth place. The Brazilian defeated at UFC 197 remained in 13th.
