Glover Teixeira took an important step towards his dream of competing again for the UFC light heavyweight belt this Saturday (16), during UFC on FOX 19, an event held in the city of Tampa, in the United States. The Minas Gerais native scored a quick knockout over the former category champion Rashad evans and marked his third positive result in a row inside the Octagon.

From the opening seconds, Glover showed that he would be aggressive as usual. The Brazilian started by cornering Evans against the fence and throwing blows, but, initially, the American avoided the risks. However, with less than two minutes of action, Glover connected with a sharp left cross on Rashad's chin, who fell.
The former champion tried to get up, but Teixeira took advantage of the moment to connect another hook to the chin, which caused Rashad to fall, knocked out, face down on the Octagon floor.
Thus, Teixeira scores another consecutive victory, as he came from positive results over Patrick Cummins and Ovince St Preux. Evans, in turn, is still going through a terrible phase in the UFC: it was his second defeat in a row, with his most recent triumph being in November 2013.
After the fight, Glover took the opportunity to challenge another top fighter in the light heavyweight division. "I know that Anthony Johnson is waiting for the soap opera between Daniel Cormier e Jon Jones if it resolves, but let's dance! We could face each other and make some money”, said the Brazilian, which brought a smile to Johnson's face.
The main card of UFC Tampa also had the victory of Rose namajunas about Tecia torres in a busy duel, in addition to the successful return of Khabib Nurmagomedov and the defeat of Hacran Dias to Cub swanson.
Swanson applies two knockdowns and beats Hacran
Hacran Dias went on to do the first round evenly with Cub swanson in the first fight on the main card, but suffered two knockdowns in the following rounds and was defeated by the North American by decision of the judges.
The Brazilian kept an eye on his opponent's sharp boxing in the first five minutes, including distributing good low kicks and staying out of any danger. Almost everything went down the drain in the first moments of the second round, when Swanson connected with a good left cross and knocked Hacran down.
Swanson also scored a knockdown in the final minutes, with a beautiful shin kick to Dias' face. The Brazilian felt the blow, but resisted until the end of 15 minutes of regulation time. The judges then unanimously pointed to Swanson's victory.
Without any scares, Nurmagomedov walks and challenges Dos Anjos

Considered one of today's great lightweights, Khabib Nurmagomedov returned to the UFC after two years away as the same old fighter he always was. Facing Darrell Horcher, who accepted the fight less than ten days in advance, the Russian avoided taking risks, took a walk and settled the bill with a technical knockout.
In the initial moments of the fight, Khabib kept the fight standing to study his opponent. Some blows were exchanged, including Horcher hitting the Russian in the face, but nothing that posed any major risk. Halfway through the round, Nurmagomedov applied a cinematic takedown to Horcher and worked hard with ground and pound. Even though he managed to defend himself, the American seemed about to be knocked out, but was saved by the bell.
In the second round, Nurmagomedov was more direct to the point: he took the takedown, advanced his position and applied harsh punishment to Horcher. The Russian attacked with force both from the crucifix position and from the back, which caused the referee to interrupt at 3:38.
In the post-fight interview, Nurmagomedov gave a direct message to the current champion of the category, Rafael dos Anjos, whom he defeated in his most recent fight to date, in 2014. “You say we have open business, so let’s get it done. Do your homework and we’ll get this straightened out in September, October or November,” he said.
