The legendary heavyweight's next fight Fedor Emelianenko it will not happen at Rizin, the Japanese organization through which he officially returned to MMA. Instead, the Russian will star in an event in his home country on June 17, in the city of Saint Petersburg.
Fedor will be part of the Fight Nights card, and his opponent is expected to be announced next week, at a press conference to be held in the country's capital, Moscow.
I'm very pleased to fight in Russia, my homeland and that of my fans. I'll return to the ring with other guys from my team, Team Fedor. I hope they will be interesting fights that satisfy the fans”, declared the Russian.
Former PRIDE heavyweight champion, Fedor maintained an almost ten-year reign in professional MMA, during which he established himself as one of the sport's greatest fighters of all time. After three years of retirement, the Russian returned to competition at the end of last year, defeating Jaideep Singh at Rizin.
