Hector Lombard defends belt at Bellator 34

Held last night (28), in the United States, Bellator 34 had as its main attraction the fight for the middleweight title between the champion Hector Lombard and the challenger Alexander shlemenko. After five rounds, the fight went to the judges' decision, where Lombard successfully defended his belt by winning by unanimous decision.

Brazil was represented in this edition of Bellator by Rio de Janeiro Igor Almeida, who was defeated by Dan Cramer via technical knockout (medical stoppage) in the first round. Another highlight of Bellator 34 was the organization's first women's flyweight title fight, where Zoila Frausto overcame Megumi Fujii in a split decision from the judges and won the category title.
