After being defeated in his last three fights, the middleweight patrick cote was fired from the UFC. The 30-year-old Canadian debuted in the event in 2004, where since then he has won four victories in eleven fights held in the North American organization. Among Cote's fights in the UFC, his victories over the North American Kendall grove by technical knockout (punches) at UFC 74, held in 2007, and about Brazilian Ricardo “Cachorrão” Almeida in the judges' split decision at UFC 86 in 2008.
“Fighting in the UFC was an incredible experience. I will do everything I can to return to the event,” Cote wrote on Twitter.
In six years as a UFC athlete, Cote reached the peak of his career when he had the opportunity to fight for the middleweight belt against the Brazilian Anderson Silva at UFC 90, held in 2008 in the United States. At the time, “The Predator”, as he is known, was defeated by technical knockout due to an injury to his right knee in the third round of the fight.
The athlete also participated in the fourth season of reality show from the UFC, The Ultimate Fighter, where he was defeated in the final of the program by the American Travis Lutter via submission (armbar) in the first round of the fight. In his last fight, Cote was defeated by the American Tom Lawlor in a unanimous decision by the judges at UFC 121, held last Saturday in the United States.
