Jon Jones is the big highlight in betting houses for UFC 197, an event that will take place on April 23, in Las Vegas (USA). With a new opponent less than three weeks away, the former light heavyweight champion has wide favoritism over Ovince St Preux in the fight that will put the category's interim belt at stake.
According to the website “MMA Odds Breaker”, Jones has a quote of -800, against +500 for St. Preux. This means that the bettor must invest US$800 to profit US$100 if “Bones” wins; As for OSP, an investment of US$100 would yield US$500 to the bettor in his victory.
The prices, however, are not surprising. In addition to the difference in preparation time, Jones is considered one of the greatest fighters in MMA history, with victories over names like Daniel Cormier, Alexander Gustafson, Glover Teixeira, Lyoto Machida, Mauritius Shogun, Quinton Rampage Jackson, Rashad evans e Vitor belfort. St. Preux has a more discreet record: he has already beaten Shogun, Patrick Cummins and Rafael Feijão, but was defeated by Glover and Ryan bader, two of Jones' victims.
