Cut out due to injury from the main fight of UFC 197, Daniel Cormier did not give up on the idea of defeating his arch-rival Jon Jones on April 23rd. Even without being able to fight, the UFC light heavyweight champion offered to help with the training of Jones' new opponent, Ovince St Preux.
In fact, Cormier highlighted that it is not just him who is dying to see Jones fall, but also all of his teammates – which also involves Cain Velazquez, former heavyweight champion, and Luke Rockhold, current holder of the middleweight title.
“I don’t care about ruining the party. Ovince St Preux You need to know that not only me, but every one of the guys at American Kickboxing Academy are ready and open to help you achieve your goals. Come and train with the best team in the business”, invited “DC”, in an interview on the website of the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.
St. Preux, however, stated that he will train for combat at his usual gym, the Knoxville Martial Arts Academy. “I'm flattered by the invitation, but, respectfully, I'm going to decline,” he said on “The MMA Hour” podcast.
