Marijuana keeps US fighter away from Beijing Games

Former world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling (also called Olympic wrestling) Joe Warren will miss the Beijing Olympics after being suspended for two years by USADA (North American Anti-Doping Agency).

The athlete was caught for the second time in anti-doping for marijuana. The decision will leave Team USA without the 2006 world champion in the 55-60 kg category.

The decision was made public by the organization in a seven-page document, confirming that Warren will not be legally eligible to be called up for the Olympics.

PUBLICITY:

The athlete's psychologist indicated that he is suffering from depression and used marijuana under doctor's orders, as the drug helped him sleep. Usada did not accept Warren's defense and confirmed the suspension until July 22, 2009.
