There were years of expectation, but Chris Cyborg will finally have his first fight in the UFC octagon – and the duel will take place at home. The Ultimate organization announced this Monday afternoon (28), that Cyborg will face North American Leslie Smith at UFC 198, an event scheduled for the city of Curitiba (PR), in May.

Always listed as one of the greatest female MMA athletes in history, Cyborg is the current featherweight champion of the Invicta FC women's event, an Ultimate partner. The former Chute Boxe athlete will perform at a combined weight, intermediate to the featherweight and bantamweight divisions, at 140 pounds, or 63,5 kg.
Leslie Smith, 33 years old, has a professional record of eight wins, six losses and one draw. The American is a training partner of brothers Nick and Nate diaz at César Gracie's academy, in California (USA), and is coming off a victory over the Japanese Rin Nakai, on March 19th.
UFC 198 takes place on May 14th, at Arena da Baixa, in Curitiba (PR). In the main fight of the night, Fabricio Werdum will defend the heavyweight belt against Stipe Miocic. In the co-main events, Ronaldo Jacare will have the compatriot Vitor belfort ahead and the Spider Anderson Silva faces Uriah Hall.
