After hosting an electrifying event that culminated in the surprising fall of the previously undefeated Ronda Rousey, Australia will once again host an Ultimate attraction. UFC Fight Night 85, in Brisbane, is more discreet than UFC 193, but still promises to provide the public with an exciting fight schedule this Saturday (19).

The main attraction of the night will bring two of the most experienced athletes on the entire UFC roster face to face. Frank mir e Mark Hunt they have a heavyweight duel which, above all, represents a true clash of styles.

PUBLICITY:

New Zealander Hunt is one of the most dangerous strikers to ever step foot in an Octagon. Champion of the K1 striking event in 2001, the “Super Samoan” is famous for his very heavy hands and his above-average absorption of blows. Standing up, Hunt has already victimized names like Antonio Pezão, Roy Nelson, Stefan struve and Cheick Kongo, and will certainly try everything to add the name of Frank mir to this list.

Mir, on the other hand, achieved much of his success through jiu-jitsu. With a treacherous ground game, the North American has already beaten people of the caliber of Rodrigo Minotauro (twice), Brock Lesnar and Tim Sylvia, which has already placed him as champion of the category twice (once as a regular, once as an interim).

Still, Hunt and Mir have been working on their areas of weakness. The New Zealander shows progress in his submission defense, as he has not lost using this method since 2010, while Mir has sharpened his striking game – which has already earned him knockouts over Antonio Pezão and Todd Duffee. Despite being more complete, expectations are high for a fight that is unlikely to reach the judges' decision.

The rest of the event will have some interesting fights. In the co-main attraction, Hector Lombard, a Cuban who lived in Australia for a long time, faces Neil Magny looking for recovery after suspension for doping.

The TUF Brazil 3 heavyweight champion, Antonio Shoe Guy, returns to the Octagon in combat against former Olympic judoka Dan Kelly. Viscardi Andrade, who participated in TUF Brasil 2, measures forces with Richard Walsh, and Alan Nuguette takes UFC newcomer Damien Brown.
