Just before UFC 196 at the beginning of the month, Jon Jones e Daniel Cormier participated in the “Unstoppable” press conference, held to promote the main UFC fights in the first half of the year. Jones received widespread support from the crowd in attendance, while Cormier was constantly booed. This, according to the champion's training partner, Luke Rockhold, affected Cormier's emotions.

It was Jones' first public appearance after the traffic incident that cost him the UFC title. According to Rockhold, Cormier's longtime colleague at AKA, the light heavyweight champion expected to see his rival being booed, and was surprised when he saw the opposite happen.

“I love DC, but yes [he was upset by the boos]. He insisted a lot on the story that Jon Jones He's the villain and he was affected by the boos. He needs to block it all out and be himself. Who cares? If people like you, they like you. If not, they don't like it. If they like Jon Jones, who cares? But he let that affect him”, said the middleweight champion, in an interview with the YouTube channel “The Underground”.

Cormier and Jones will rematch in the main fight of UFC 197, on April 23, in Las Vegas (USA). In the first fight between them, Jones won the judges' decision. However, a few months later, the American was removed from his post due to extra-octagon problems and saw Cormier submit Anthony Johnson to win the vacant belt.
