Although not yet official, UFC-127 is scheduled to take place on February 5th of next year. Sources close to the organization claim that the revelations Jon Jones e Ryan bader will face each other on the main card of the show.
Jones should face the former light heavyweight champion later this year Forrest griffin. However, the former owner of the belt was injured during training and was unable to perform in 2010. As a result, UFC president, Dana White, promised Jones that he would face the winner of the clash between Ryan bader and Rogério “Minotouro”, where the North American defeated the Brazilian at UFC-119, held on September 25th.
Both Bader and Jones are on the rise in MMA, both with 12 fights on their records. While Bader is undefeated in his career, Jones has only one defeat, when he was disqualified in the TUF-10 Finale, for throwing an illegal elbow at Matt Hamill.
Before defeating “Minotouro” by decision, Bader knocked out Keith Jardine at UFC-110. Jones won his last two fights by technical knockout in the first round, using elbows, one of his main skills. Last March, he defeated Brandon Vera at UFC Live 1, while last August, he beat Vladimir Matyushenko at UFC Live 2.
UFC 127 will be held in Las Vegas and will feature as its main attraction the fight for the middleweight belt, where the Brazilian Anderson Silva will defend his belt against his compatriot Vitor belfort.
