What promises to be the biggest event ever held by Ultimate on Brazilian soil will not feature the biggest name in MMA in the country. The organization ruled out the presence of Anderson Silva at UFC 198 in May, claiming he had not found an opponent for Spider in a timely manner. On the other hand, the duel between Vitor belfort e Ronaldo Jacare it will even be the co-main fight of the night.

The information was released on the website of the “Combate” channel. In an interview with the publication, Giovani Decker, director of Ultimate in Brazil, promised the biggest attraction ever held by the organization on Brazilian soil and also guaranteed the presence of local athletes on fight night. “This card will be the best in Brazilian history. We still have fights to confirm and we will have people from Paraná at the event”, he guaranteed.

UFC 198 takes place on May 14, at Arena da Baixada, Atlético-PR's stadium, which hosted World Cup games in 2014. The main fight of the night will mark the heavyweight champion's first title defense Fabricio Werdum, which stars the North-American of Croatian descent Stipe Miocic.
