The Paraense Yuri Marajó is the grand champion of the GP under 70 kilos of Jungle Fight, an event that held its twenty-second edition this Saturday (18), in São Paulo. The Striker Team fighter defeated his compatriot Francisco'massaranduba' and the Peruvian Manuelo Morales to keep the belt. In the most anticipated fight of the show, Edward Pamplona, even at 37 years old, he wasted physical fitness and great striking to win Edilberto Crocotá in the unanimous decision of the judges.
Yuri Marajó wins belt
Coming from a great streak of eight consecutive wins, Yuri Marajó won the most important title of his career tonight. In the fight for the semifinals, the man from Pará showed a lot of determination and recovery. After being punished by Francisco'massaranduba' in the first round and being taken to the ground at the beginning of the second round, Yuri didn't despair and, even from below, locked in a tight arm-bar to end the duel. In the grand final, the Brazilian faced Peruvian Manuelo Morales, who had beaten Mexican Nino Marroquin, and needed just 17 seconds to knock out his opponent with a strong knee to the waist. Pamplona beats Crocotá in a great fight
The most anticipated duel of the night confirmed the expectations of the public who were present at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium. Pushed by the crowd, Eduardo Pamplona used all his Muay Thai to work with low kicks and strong punches against Edilberto Crocotá, who showed hard-hitting boxing. After being knocked down in the first round, Pamplona got up and found a better distance to work on his kicks and punches. In the last round, it was Eduardo's turn to take the fight to the ground and work with punches from the guard, in an attempt to defend himself, Crocotá used a guillotine choke and almost submitted his opponent, who ended up escaping.
