First Brazilian to step into the octagon for the UFC London, in the co-main fight of the night, moments before his compatriot Anderson Silva, Thales leites ended up dominated by Gegard Mousasi and got the worst of it, opening the Tupiniquim participation on the card with a defeat.

Thales started the fight by taking Mousasi to the fence and putting pressure on his rival. However, with an attempt at a sacrificial position, the Brazilian ended up losing control and ending up with his back on the ground. Back on his feet, the Brazilian had difficulty maintaining his distance and was put under a lot of pressure by the Armenian-Dutch, who landed some good blows on Thales' face.

In the second half, Thales returned looking to take down Mousasi, who denied the attacks well and managed to hit the Brazilian with counter blows. In an attempt to single leg, Thales almost suffered a knockdown, but managed to cling to his rival's legs. For the rest of the round, the Armenian-Dutch kept his distance with jabs that hurt his opponent.

In the last round, visibly tired, Thales quickly took guard in order to try for a submission. Mousasi, in turn, avoided the ground game and kept the fight standing, punishing the Brazilian with his straight strikes. In the end, the former Strikeforce champion landed on top and kept the Brazilian under control until the end to secure the victory.

Now, Thales, who was coming from a great winning streak, suffered two consecutive defeats. Coincidentally, the most recent one also happened in the United Kingdom, but in Scotland, in front of Michael Bisping.

The undefeated welterweight Tom Breese is one of the biggest promises in English MMA and was one of the big favorites on the MMA card. UFC London against the Japanese Keita Nakamura. However, Breese didn't live up to expectations and won a unanimous decision, but in a tepid fight.

The biggest moments of the fight were the submission attempts for both sides. While Breese came close to winning with an inverted triangle and a heel hook, Nakamura came close to submitting his opponent with an omoplata.

At the end of the fight, two referees declared the victory of Tom Breese by 30×27 and one saw the home athlete triumph by two rounds to one, with 29×28.

Pickett beats Rivera in controversial decision

In one of the night's busiest fights, the veteran Brad pickett He overcame adversity and defeated Francisco Rivera in a split decision from the judges. The result, however, was controversial and, despite raising the home crowd, left Rivera indignant.

In the first round, Pickett suffered no less than three knockdowns and came very close to being knocked out. However, the Brit recovered and managed to resist Rivera's attack.

Recovering in the following rounds, Pickett balanced his actions, but did not give up his frank striking. In the final stretch of the fight, the Englishman landed a good takedown and seemed to have impressed the judges, who declared him the winner in a split decision.

A curious fact is that director Guy Ritchie, creator of the character One Punch (from the film “Snatch”), who inspired the nickname Brad pickett, watched the fight from the front row.
