After some controversial statements on Twitter, where he called for a boxing match against James Toney, the brazilian Vitor belfort he started talking about MMA again. In an interview with the Las Vegas Review newspaper, The “Phenomenon”, apparently much more focused, stated that he wants to be UFC champion, but one step at a time.
“I learned something in life. Everyone has a path. I know where I want to go and how I'm going to get there. The obstacles in the way, I don't choose. God knows, my job is to get past them,” Belfort said. However, when analyzing his next confrontation, against Yushin Okami, the controversy resurfaced. The Brazilian stated that he is not worried about his opponent, but only about his training and preparation
“I'm not worried about him (Okami). I’m not worried about anyone but myself”, said Vitor. “I'm just worried about my work every day to arrive in the best condition, because I know when I'm in my best condition, I'm a problem”, he concluded.
