Mother of former UFC champion Vitor belfort, Jovita Belfort was one of the main activists of the movement that guaranteed Rio de Janeiro a police station specialized in investigating missing people and may be taking the first step towards a political career. According to Vitor himself, Jovita was invited to run for councilor in the October elections.

My mother turned her pain into a fight and created the police station for the missing in Rio. She is now entering public life as a champion of a cause that belongs to all mothers of the missing. Congratulations warrior!”, wrote the fighter on his official profile on Instagram.
The deadline for Jovita to join the party in order to seek a seat in the Rio de Janeiro City Council is April 2, six months before the municipal elections.
Just over a month later, Vitor belfort return to the octagon against Ronaldo Jacare in the co-main fight of the first edition of the UFC on Brazilian soil in 2016, in a location yet to be defined.
