The lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos puts its title on the line on March 5th against the Irish Conor McGregor and public provocations have been a trademark of the confrontation, which takes place at UFC 196. In an interview, Dos Anjos made a point of needling his rival and highlighting that he has already faced greater challenges in his career, thanking Ultimate's directors for finally presenting him with an “easy fight”.

“As I said, I think this is the biggest fight of my career, because McGregor is very popular. But I've faced better guys before. I faced fighters like Donald Cerrone twice, Ben henderson, Anthony Pettis and they sure are better. I didn't get a chance to thank Dana White at the press conference because Conor didn't let me speak, but I want to thank him and Lorenzo Fertitta (UFC president and owner respectively) for finally giving me an easy fight ”, said the Brazilian, on the program “The MMA Hour”.

Rafael dos Anjos won the lightweight title in March last year and has already defended it once, with a devastating victory over Donald Cerrone in December last year. Already Conor McGregor became featherweight champion by knocking out the Brazilian José Aldo in just 13 seconds, but he won't even put his title on the line and will try to become the first athlete in the history of Ultimate to hold belts in two different weight categories simultaneously.
