Amazon Fight with knockouts, submissions and controversies

The fourth edition of Amazon Fight shook the city of Belém on Friday night. The stands of the Gymnasium of the Higher School of Physical Education were well packed and the public was able to watch good MMA fights and some controversies.

 

Big Monster defeats Bira Lima in controversial fight

In the heavyweight duel, Big Monster started the fight better against Bira Lima, landing the best blows and attacking well in takedown attempts. When trying to defend himself from a leg kick, Bira grabbed the fence and was heavily penalized at one point. Resuming the fight on the feet, Monster took the fight to the ground and when he tried to work with the guard's punches, he was hit with an illegal kick from Bira, who was again punished with the loss of another point. In the second round, the fight started with an exchange of punches, but soon had to be stopped, as the Top Brother athlete's glove had torn and needed to be replaced. Appearing visibly tired, Monster tried to cool down the duel by refusing to wear a new glove. After more than five minutes of waiting, the fight resumed and Bira landed a strong knee on Big's stomach, who went to the ground, however, Ulisses Pereira's student, when going for ground and pound, threw a punch at his opponent's spine. , being punished again and disqualified from the fight. The central referee's decision generated a lot of controversy and complaints. At the end of the fight, Monster claimed that he had broken his nose in the second round and that he did not consider it a victory, despite several irregularities committed by his opponent.

Antonio Samurai returns to combat with defeat

Another duel that caught the attention was between former UFC fighter, Antonio Samurai and Idelmar Queixinho. Away from fighting due to family problems, Samurai tried to boost his career again, but faced a tough opponent. Queixinho worked well on his combinations of blows during the three rounds and won by unanimous decision from the referees.

Luis Sapo wins another

In the main fight of the night, Luis Sapo put up a good fight against karateka Pedro Iriê, who quickly replaced the injured Mauro Xuxa. Sapo started the duel better with his striking, but Pedro recovered and put on a fair and competitive fight. But in the second round, Sapo took him down and adjusted the katagatame, forcing the São Paulo native to give up. Check out the other results:
