Many expected that Vitor belfort faced Anderson Silva, in a rematch of the most memorable fight in the history of Brazilian MMA, in his next fight. However, the “Phenomenon” will face another compatriot, Ronaldo Jacare, in the main fight of a UFC event in Brazil in May. The announcement took fans by surprise, but also Vitor's friend and former training partner, Gilbert Durinho, who said he preferred the rival to be Spider.

“I would rather see Vitor fighting against Anderson Silva. But the UFC ended up closing this fight, which will be a confrontation between a friend and a guy I'm a fan of. Vitor is a great friend, I started training MMA with him. We have a great relationship”, said Durinho, in an interview with the newspaper “Extra” website.
The specialist in the gentle art also carried out a technical analysis of the duel and pointed out the strengths of each of the rivals for the fight. “It's a very complicated fight, there are two guys I really like. It will be difficult to watch, but I see an advantage for Vitor in the stand-up fight, as he has a lot of speed in his hands. Jacaré is a monster in grappling, he takes down well, he's a finisher, he can take hits, he's incredibly physically prepared and he's very strong. Very dangerous fight. Vitor has an advantage in standing and speed and Jacaré in grappling and physical preparation”, he assessed.
The duel between Vitor and Jacaré will mark the first UFC event in Brazil in 2015, and will take place on May 14th. The location of the fight night, however, has not yet been announced by the organization. Durinho, 29 years old, still doesn't have a date set for his return to the octagon. The Brazilian lost his unbeaten record in his last fight, against Rashid Magomedov, in November last year.
