The opponent of Conor McGregor at UFC 197 is Rafael dos Anjos, but the Irishman's behavior at the event's press conference last Wednesday (20) ended up irritating another Brazilian: Fabricio Werdum. In an interview, the heavyweight champion said that if it had been him in Dos Anjos' place he would not have remained calm and that the story could even have ended in confusion.

“When they asked Rafael a question and he got in the way, it wasn’t cool. If it were my opponent, I would do this (gestures as if throwing the glass and slapping the rival) and say: 'Be quiet!'. But it's not Rafael's personality. He is intelligent, knows how to control himself and only thinks about the fight”, said “Vai Cavalo”, in an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website.

Dos Anjos' training partner at “King's MMA”, Werdum said he will be alongside the lightweight champion against the Irishman. “If you fight a friend of mine, you fight me too. We are a family. If you say the wrong thing, you pay for it for sure. It is very important to have respect. You have your space, I have my space. We have a fight, there's no need to lean in first. I think that Conor McGregor didn't show respect, that's not cool. If he does that to me, I would be in big trouble. I think it’s very important that he respects my space and I respect his,” he said.

Fabricio Werdum returns to the Octagon even before Dos Anjos vs. McGregor. “Vai Cavalo” puts his belt on the line on February 6th, in Las Vegas (USA), in the main fight of UFC 196. The gaucho’s opponent will be the former champion Cain Velazquez, in an immediate rematch of the fight that won him the heavyweight title.
