Mike Tyson knows like no one else what Ronda Rousey is passing. Just as happened with the former UFC champion, who shockingly lost her unbeaten record with a knockout, the former boxer was also the victim of what is considered one of the biggest upsets in the history of combat sports. Therefore, Tyson stated that the best way to overcome the shock is to “leave the house”.

In February 1990, Tyson was considered the most feared boxer active, with a record of 37 wins in 37 fights (34 of which were knockouts). However, he ended up surprised by challenger James “Buster” Douglas, who knocked him out to the astonishment of the world.

In an interview with presenter Conan O'Brien's program, Tyson gave advice to Ronda, who, after the defeat, avoided making public appearances and making statements. “She needs to understand that we are in the business of 'hurting'. It doesn't matter if you are the king in this business, you also end up getting hurt. She needs to think, leave the house, whatever. Show your face, you are human”, declared the former fighter.

In November last year, Ronda lost her unbeaten record and UFC belt to Holly holm, with a knockout. According to Tyson, the current champion will probably never surpass this feat. “ Maybe Ronda thought he was Goliath, but David was an excellent king – and he was known for defeating Goliath. That’s what happens with Holm: she will never leave Ronda’s shadow,” Tyson pointed out.
