As reported by SUPER FIGHTS first hand, Carina Damm was confirmed in the Strikeforce women's GP (remember here), however, bureaucratic obstacles could prevent the Brazilian from participating in the tournament. Carina has not yet obtained a work visa to travel to the United States and the show's organizers, despite offering support to the Brazilian, are already thinking of a 'plan b'.
“Strikeforce is helping Carina so she can get her visa. If she doesn't make it, we will announce a replacement worthy of Carina Damm,” said Mike Afromowitz, Strikeforce spokesperson.
The GP of four fighters takes place at Strikeforce Challenger 9, an event that takes place on August 13th in Phoenix, in the United States.
