The defeat for Yoel romero in a split decision has not yet been overcome by Ronaldo Jacare. The Brazilian, who suffered his first defeat in the octagon against the Cuban, at UFC 194, is eager for a rematch or wants to face the former champion Chris Weidman. The guarantor is his manager, Gilberto Faria, in an interview with “UFC Tonight”, the official Ultimate newspaper on North American TV.
Furthermore, Gilberto harshly criticized Romero's stance in the duel on December 12th. “We still haven’t digested the judges’ decision. Romero played dirty. If you see the footage, he held the fence twice to avoid being taken down in a row in the second round and even hit Jacaré in the eye with his finger in the third,” said the agent, also on the program.
At 36, Ronaldo Jacare has a professional record of 22 wins, four losses and one fight without result. The former champion of the now defunct Strikeforce currently occupies third place in the UFC's official middleweight rankings, right behind Yoel romero e Chris Weidman.
