Edgar criticizes UFC management and says McGregor is running from him

According to the former lightweight champion, his future is in McGregor's hands as his fight would only get off the ground when the Irishman wanted it

After hitting Chad Mendes in early December, Frankie Edgar was confirmed as the next challenger for the featherweight belt. However, almost a month has passed since Edgar's triumph, as well as the victory of Conor McGregor about José Aldo in the title dispute, and no news regarding the duel was released. The delay on the part of Ultimate has left the former lightweight champion impatient and quite unhappy with Ultimate and McGregor.

“I'm in limbo here. I was promised that I would get everything I wanted one night, and the next night Conor gets whatever he wants. I'm definitely pissed about this. I've been knocking on the door of this title fight for a while now. The people I have to talk to are Dana and Lorenzo, and it seems like they’re not listening to me either,” said Edgar, in an interview with “The MMA Hour” podcast.

Furthermore, “The Answer”, as he is known, also said that he believes he will only fight McGregor if the Irishman wants to, but he does not believe that will happen. “The only way I can face McGregor is if he says he wants to fight me, and I don't think he's going to say that because I think he thinks I'm the riskier fight for him. Why would he risk losing so much money?” he analyzed.

At 34, Frankie Edgar has a professional record of 19 wins, four losses and one draw. The former lightweight champion has won five consecutive victories and has not lost since February 2013, when he was defeated by José Aldo in the featherweight title fight.
