After a few weeks of negotiation, Jake Shields signed his contract with the UFC this week. Now, possible opponents are beginning to emerge for the former Strikeforce and EliteXC champion.
According to several international websites, Shields should face the Danish Martin Kampmann at UFC-121, an event that takes place on October 23 in Anaheim, California.
Shields had his last fight in April, in his last appearance on Strikeforce, when he defeated Dan Henderson in the unanimous decision of the judges, while Kampmann comes from a significant victory over the Brazilian Paulo thiago in the referees' decision at UFC-115, held in June.
