The UFC didn't take long to kick off its 2016 season of events. The new year already begins with the promising UFC 195, an attraction that will take place this Saturday (2), in Las Vegas, in the United States. And the main fight alone promises to deliver a spectacle to the audience at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Welterweight champion since the end of 2014, Robbie Lawler tries to establish itself more and more at the top of the category up to 77 kg. After making an electrifying title defense against Rory McDonald in July last year, the North American will have another unpleasant stop ahead: Carlos Condit.

PUBLICITY:

Lawler and Condit are two of the most explosive athletes in the division. Both have versatility in stand-up fighting, hard-hitting blows and resistance to punishment, which promises a real war in Las Vegas.

The champion has been on an excellent run since returning to the UFC in 2012: since then, Lawler has won seven fights, against just one setback. Condit, in turn, is not experiencing the same sequence of positive results – in fact, in his last five fights, there were three defeats and two wins. However, his spectacular style and resume were enough to take him to fight for the belt.

Heavies want to steal the show

In the second most important fight of the night, two heavyweights compete with an eye on the belt that the Brazilian currently holds Fabricio Werdum. Stipe Miocic e Andrei Arlovski they have a duel whose winner will be close to competing for the Ultimate title.

Both are in good shape. Arlovski, a former division champion, has won four fights in a row since returning to the UFC, including knockouts over Antonio Pezão and Travis Browne, another triumph over Frank mir. Miocic has lost just one in his last five fights, to junior gypsy, in a fight in which he inflicted a harsh punishment on the Brazilian. In his most recent presentation, he also punished Mark Hunt until winning by technical knockout.

PUBLICITY:

Arlovski and Miocic have good physical shape and are agile considering the parameters of the heavyweight category. Therefore, a busy fight is to be expected, perhaps even with a quick knockout on either side.

The rest of the card

UFC 195 is not as star-studded an event as its predecessor, the historic UFC 194, headlined by Conor McGregor x José Aldo. This time, the card as a whole is more modest, with fights that, despite being interesting, do not appeal to the general public.

The remainder of the schedule includes an intriguing clash between rising welterweights Albert Tumenov and Lorenz Larkin; already Diego Brandao, the only Brazilian at the event, faces the dangerous Brian ortega.

PUBLICITY:

On the preliminary card, the highlight is the return of Michael McDonald, who faces Masanori Kanehara, in addition to the duel between Dustin poirier e Joseph Duffy. The lightweight fight was scheduled for October last year, but Duffy, the last fighter to beat McGregor, was injured at the last minute.
