Miesha Tate was supposed to be the challenger for the women's bantamweight belt, but ended up being put aside so that Holly holm faced Ronda Rousey. With Holm's victory over Rousey, Tate will be waiting again, as Ultimate has confirmed an immediate rematch between the rivals. In Tate's opinion, however, the option is a mistake, as Ronda will end up defeated again.

“It wasn't even a close fight, and Holly has the perfect style to defeat Ronda. She is now back training, has no injuries from the fight and already knows she will face Ronda again. Holm has all the time she needs to tweak any details she wants to improve on. I think she will be even more prepared, and that's why I don't think the rematch is a good idea, because Ronda could end up suffering her second defeat in a row”, declared the former Strikeforce champion, on the “MMA Junkie Radio” program. “I don't like a rematch in such a short period of time, because of everything Ronda has around her, in addition to her injuries. I think the result may not be positive,” she added.
Miesha also spoke about her future and said that she is still waiting for contact from Ultimate to define her situation. “I still don't know who my next opponent will be, but I would like my next fight to be for the belt. As it seems like that's not what's going to happen, I'm waiting for a call from the UFC to find out what's going to happen”, said the North American, who has been speculated as a possible opponent for the Brazilians.
