Great rival of the Brazilian José Aldo, Conor McGregor is considered a kind of “spiritual successor” to Chael Sonnen, for his controversial manner and blunt statements. However, apparently, Sonnen decided to show the Irishman why he is a reference in the subject of “trash-talk” and, just a few days before UFC 194, he did not spare any of the stars of what promises to be the biggest card of the year in the Ultimate and blasted both McGregor and Aldo.

“I've never seen a fight of this magnitude where both fighters are scared of losing like this. Every time you see a big boxing, wrestling or MMA fight, both guys are sure they are going to win. They really believe it. These two are scared to death of each other and are absolutely certain that the other guy is going to win. I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Sonnen, in an interview with “Submission Radio”.

Soon after, Chael started personal attacks and made McGregor his first victim. “Conor McGregor is preparing the ground for its downfall. This is so clear to a guy who understands sports psychology. He recently spoke in an interview: 'The secret ingredient to success is failure' and 'no one can truly be the best until they are defeated'. That's a lie. I can list several guys who were unbeatable. You don't have to be defeated. That’s a strange thing to say,” he snapped.

Already talking about Aldo, Sonnen went further and called the Brazilian a coward. “José Aldo…This guy is a coward. I can't even tell you how good the José Aldo Yes, but he doesn't believe it himself. When Georges St Pierre retired and Jon Jones was absent, I pointed José Aldo as the best pound for pound in the world. That's how highly I think of him. But the guy is a coward. He has already dropped out of five fights. And he already got out of this once,” he concluded.
