Official commentator for the UFC in the United States and who also works as a comedian, Joe Rogan apologized to Chris Cyborg for a nasty joke he made about the Brazilian fighter recently. Rogan explained the context that led him to say the fateful comment, but took full responsibility for its consequences.

At the time, the commentator stated, among other jokes, that Cyborg would only be able to move down to bantamweight, where they fight Ronda Rousey, Holly holm and company, if he “cut off his male organ”. The fighter was obviously upset with the statements, but Rogan insisted on retracting it.

“I shouldn't have said that, but that's what you say when you're in the company of comedians. That's what we do. Besides, I had already had some to drink. It was stupid, and I certainly didn't mean to do it with any malice. I feel bad about saying that, because I don't want to hurt your feelings. I hope she accepts my apology. It’s my fault and I take full responsibility,” Rogan said.

Rogan, Ronda and even the president of the UFC, Dana White, have already made comments about the Brazilian's appearance, also motivated by the fact that the fighter has already been caught taking anti-doping tests using anabolic steroids. Even so, Cyborg is trying to get down to 61 kg so he can finally make his UFC debut.
