After fracturing her hand in her last title defense, against Canadian Valerie Letourneau at UFC 193, strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk underwent surgery on the spot this Tuesday (24) and made a point of reassuring her fans on social media.

"The operation was a success. Thank you everyone for the support. I love you guys”, wrote Joanna, on her official profile on Instagram, along with an image of you in the hospital bed.
At 28 years old, Joanna Jedrzejczyk has an undefeated professional record of 11 wins in 11 fights. The Polish woman won the 52,1 kg division title in March this year, defeating the former champion Carla esparza, and has already defended his belt twice, against Jessica penne and Valerie Letourneau.
Although there is still no confirmation from Ultimate, the tendency is for Joanna to make her next title fight against the Brazilian Claudinha gadelha, whom she already defeated in a very controversial split decision in her last fight before becoming champion. The duel, however, depends on the Polish woman's recovery.
