Jon Jones seems to be really willing to change his lifestyle to regain the UFC light heavyweight belt. The former champion admitted on his social media that he led his life irresponsibly in the past, but that now he will do everything he can to get back on track and regain his success in the octagon.

The North American was champion of the 93 kg category between 2011 and April this year, when he was involved in a controversial traffic accident and was removed from his position. On that occasion, Jones crossed a red light and hit a car driven by a pregnant woman; the fighter fled the scene on foot, without providing assistance to the victim, and drugs were found in his car by the police.

Months earlier, Jones had been caught in a surprise drug test during preparations for his fight against Daniel Cormier, in January, for cocaine use.

On his Twitter profile, Jones was approached by a follower, who said that, despite his support for the fighter, he was disappointed by his actions. “You have every right to be disappointed. I was living like an idiot, and it took me a long time to realize that,” the fighter wrote.

Another internet user sent him a message of encouragement. “Do what you have to do, GOAT [acronym, in English, for 'Greatest of All Time']!” Jones then replied: “Yes, I will, but this time I will be really focused, with my head on straight.”

Jones, who was suspended by the UFC, was recently reinstated to the organization's roster, meaning he is free to fight again. There is no confirmed date for his return yet, but it will probably happen in April 2016, when he will face again Daniel Cormier, now category champion.
