After several years of expectations and frustrated negotiations, Pacquiao and Mayweather finally faced each other in May this year, in Las Vegas (USA). The North American prevailed in the judges' decision. After that, Mayweather won another fight, against Andre Berto, and then retired, but Pacquiao was hopeful about seeing the rematch happen.
“I still don’t know who my next opponent will be, but we are now negotiating a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, so I hope that happens,” declared Pacquiao, in a chat with fans on his Facebook page.
Pacquiao, 36 years old, has a record of 56 wins, six losses and two draws; Mayweather, 38, considered the highest paid athlete in the world, retired from the ring with an undefeated professional record, with 49 wins in 49 fights.
