Tim Kennedy had already shown himself to be one of the fighters most critical of the sponsorship agreement between the UFC and Reebok, but this time he went further. The American expressed his desire to fight under the command of his former boss, Scott Coker, now at Bellator, if he did not have any type of contractual relationship with Ultimate.

Since July, Reebok has provided uniforms to all UFC fighters. The agreement, however, caused controversy, as it prevents athletes from entering the octagon with sponsors, in addition to having financial compensation considered low.

Kennedy once again expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation and declared his desire to return to work with Coker, who was his boss during his Strikeforce days. “Scott is incredible, I love fighting for him. If I didn’t have a contractual obligation with the UFC, I would definitely fight for them”, said the North American, in an interview with the “Submission Radio” podcast.

The fighter once again declared that he will suffer huge financial losses with the agreement between the UFC and Reebok. “I can show how much I earned from sponsorships in my last Strikeforce fight, when I won to fight for the Strikeforce title and how much I will earn from the deal with Reebok. How are you going to argue with that? I'm not an idiot. I’m a good businessman,” he added.

Coincidentally or not, Kennedy has been away from fighting since last year and has no plans to return. His last fight was in September 2014, when he lost to Yoel romero in a controversial fight at UFC 178; Since then, he hasn't had any fights scheduled, despite not having suffered any injuries.
