Middleweight champion says he should move to light heavyweight after beating winner of Jacaré x Romero

After being provoked by Luke Rockhold, who called him “slow” in a recent interview, Chris Weidman He gave his answer and stated that he is so sure of victory that he is already thinking about moving up a category.

Weidman will defend his middleweight belt again in December, at UFC 194. He is betting that he will beat Rockhold in the first half of the fight, will have one more fight afterwards and then move on to the top division, light heavyweight.

“I would say I will end the fight in the first, second or third rounds. My focus is on Luke and the winner of [Ronaldo] Jacaré x Yoel romero. After that, we'll look at the light heavyweights and Jon Jones, or whoever is fine there. My future will eventually be light heavyweight. Not because of a weight cut or anything like that, but because I'm running out of new guys to beat at middleweight”, teased the champion, in a chat with fans on the “Periscope” app.

Weidman and Rockhold make the second most important appearance at the event in the city of Las Vegsa, in the United States. On the same night, there will be another important fight in the middleweight category, between Jacaré and Romero, which should define the challenger next.
