Recently, UFC champion José Aldo went public to complain about the organization's contract, which imposed exclusivity in the supply of sporting equipment and limited the presence of personal sponsors in the Octagon. However, Aldo is now negotiating with Reebok, an Ultimate partner, in addition to his current sponsor Venum, whose contract is about to expire, and other brands.

“Actually, we are still under contract with Venum. But, are we negotiating with Reebok? Yes, since they signed with the UFC. Not only them, but also a third brand. We’re going to sit down, talk to everyone and see what’s best for Aldo”, said the Brazilian’s coach, Dedé Pederneiras, in an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website.

Although the Brazilian declared that he would lose money with the contract between UFC and Reebok, Pederneiras revealed that this ended up not happening, and that the champion kept his sponsors. “Honestly, nothing has changed for Aldo. He ended up losing the sponsors who pay to appear on fight nights, but among those who pay monthly throughout the year, no one left,” he said.

José Aldo will step into the octagon for the first time since Ultimate began exclusive uniforms with Reebok on December 12th. On the date, the Brazilian will face Conor McGregor in the main fight of UFC 194, in Las Vegas (USA). The long-awaited duel will be valid for the unification of the interim and linear belts in the featherweight category.
