José Aldo: 'After UFC 194 I won't need to talk about McGregor anymore'

The Brazilian also spoke about how he has been recovering from his rib injury and said that he has already been playing football and coaching normally

Since you won Chad Mendes at the UFC Rio edition in October 2014, José Aldo has been targeted almost daily with questions about Conor McGregor, who would previously be his challenger and is now the owner of the interim featherweight belt. However, despite having gotten used to the situation, the lineal champion of the 66 kg division can't wait to step into the Octagon against McGregor and get rid of the Irishman as a topic.

“Yes, I'm tired (of answering questions about McGregor), but I can deal with it now. This should have ended by now, but after December 12th (at UFC 194) I won't need to talk about him anymore”, said the Brazilian, during a social action for Children's Day in Rio de Janeiro, according to the website Norte -American “MMA Fighting”.

Aldo also spoke about his recovery from the injury that took him out of his first fight against McGregor, which would take place in July. “The recovery was good and now I am fully focused on the future. It's in the past, now it's time to look to the future and forget about the injury and all that stuff. I'm 100% now, playing football and ready to train. Let’s hope nothing bad happens and then I can go there and put an end to this story,” he concluded.

The history of José Aldo e Conor McGregor will come to an end, or at least write its first chapter, on December 12th, when the two rivals meet in the octagon in the main fight of UFC 194. The event, which will be held in Las Vegas (USA), will also feature the Middleweight title fight between Chris Weidman e Luke Rockhold as co-main event.
