Considered one of the greatest MMA athletes of all time, Fedor Emelianenko is confirmed to fight on December 31st in Japan. His opponent for the occasion is not officially confirmed, but the North American website “MMA Fighting” stated that it should be Indian kickboxer Singh Jaideep. However, there is a Brazilian who wants to change this story.

Carlos Toyota, based in Japan for over 20 years, was confirmed at short notice for a fight against Jaideep himself this Saturday (17th), valid for the Deep belt. And, according to him, a victory could put him in the position of Emelianenko's opponent at the end of the year.

“They called me at the last minute for this fight against the Indian, for the belt. I wouldn't accept it, I would try to put someone else in my place, because I have another fight. But they said it had to be me. After I signed, the promoter said that Nobuyuki Sakakibara will see this fight and that Fedor's opponent will leave our fight”, said Toyota, in an interview with the blog “Na Grade do MMA”.

Toyota has a record of six wins, six losses and one draw, having triumphs over names like Hong-Man Choi (who has lost to Fedor in the past) and Daiju Takase, executioner of Anderson Silva.
