Rockhold: 'Vitor Belfort is a disgrace to the sport'

The North American picked up on the news about an omitted examination of the Brazilian at the time of the fight against Jon Jones and spared no criticism

This week, the news released by the North American press that Vitor belfort would have challenged Jon Jones for the light heavyweight belt at UFC 152, even after showing high testosterone levels in a test carried out days before, he shook the world of MMA. One of Vitor's biggest rivals, Luke Rockhold, defeated by him in May 2013, didn't miss the chance to attack him and, in a very ironic tone, blasted the Brazilian.

"Vitor belfort It’s a joke and a disgrace to the sport,” said Rockhold, in an interview with the North American website “Bleacher Report”. “It’s nothing I wasn’t already expecting from him. I knew he had been cheating the whole time. The question is just how much he cheated. This is all crazy. I don't know the exact reason why he does this. Money? I don't know why he always gets away with it, but the fact is he always gets away with it. I don’t have much more to say,” he added.

But Rockhold said more. The next challenger for the middleweight belt also made accusations about Vitor's physical shape, and raised suspicions about how the Brazilian moved between the 84 and 93 kg divisions. “I remember well when he went to fight Jon Jones, how big he was. It felt abnormal at times. He could go from 84 kg to 93 kg and be as big as anyone in the division. No one can do that and get muscular enough to be the biggest middleweight of all and then turn into the biggest light heavyweight of all,” he said.

Both Vitor and Rockhold enter the Octagon by the end of the year, but with very different goals. While the Brazilian tries to recover from the defeat in the middleweight title fight, facing Dan Henderson in November, the North American challenges Chris Weidman for the 84 kg division title.
