Veteran Japanese MMA fighter, “Kid” Yamamoto will not have the opportunity to fight in front of his fans next weekend. The athlete had his fight canceled at UFC Fight Night 75, an event that will be held on Saturday night (26) in Saitama, near Tokyo.
Both “Kid” and his opponent, Matt Hobar, were injured just a few days before the event. Unable to find replacements, the UFC preferred to cancel the fight, reducing the event card to ten fights. Like this, Diego Brandao, the only Brazilian on the show, had his fight against Katsunori Kikuno promoted to the main card.
Yamamoto, 38 years old, gained fame on the Japanese scene at Shooto and Hero's, where he became champion of a lightweight GP. In the UFC, however, his career still leaves something to be desired: he had four fights, with three losses and one no-contest.
