A group called “MMA Watchdog” intends to hold, this Saturday (5), a protest around the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas (USA). The complaint is about the participation of Anthony Johnson at the event, in which he will fight against Jimi Manuwa on the main card.

All this because “Rumble”, as he is known, has a recent history of domestic violence, as last year he was provisionally suspended for allegedly attacking his ex-wife. Furthermore, last month, the fighter argued with and offended a woman he had a disagreement with at his gym.
The group complains that Johnson, despite all the controversies, did not suffer any type of consequences. “The UFC claims to have a zero tolerance policy against domestic violence, but this is something that is applied selectively. Some fighters are protected if they are popular. Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson should not be fighting at this event”, says the text calling for the protest.
“His recent outburst of rage against a defenseless woman was completely unnecessary. A man of his size and abilities should not be intimidating and threatening women and invading their personal space. After that, he still bragged about his cowardly actions, threatening to do it again and suggesting that the woman not return to the gym. Johnson has multiple charges of violence. He has already been convicted of this at least once,” the group continued.
Furthermore, the group was also dissatisfied with the UFC's stance in relation to Travis Browne, who, despite having recently been accused of assaulting his wife, remains free to fight.
